It would be easy to just say West Ham have had a poor start to their season and have done with because the reasons for it are a lot deeper than that.
Whilst some players needed to have bucked their ideas up earlier than they have this season the club have also endured a shocking amount of injuries to key players that would throw anyone’s campaign off course.
Nevertheless, those injuries are beginning to subside and the squad is starting to reach it’s full potential with the left-back area the perfect demonstrator of the situation.
Havard Nordtveit and Angelo Ogbonna have had to play there out of position with injuries to Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell causing issues.
Thankfully, Cresswell is back and Masuaku is making good progress but that doesn’t mean the Hammers can rest on their laurels.
In fact, Slaven Bilic should be looking for further left-back options in case things fall apart again and we think these two in particular should be on his list…
