According to Claret & Hugh, West Ham United star Aaron Cresswell has rejected a new contract offer.

West Ham United are set for a transformative summer with managerial changes predicted and an overhaul of the squad suggested to be on the cards ahead of next season.

David Moyes’ future is not promised as several manager candidates have been named in the media over the last few weeks with Liverpool target and Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim rumoured to hold talks with the East London club, while former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Julen Lopetegui has also been considered.

It has also been reported that the Hammers could be set to send packing at least 12 players over the summer transfer window, which would suggest that the club are keen to completely transform the squad and ignite a new chapter at the London Stadium.

West Ham insiders Claret & Hugh are now reporting that a one-year extension was offered to left-back Aaron Cresswell recently, however, the player has now rejected that offer and if nothing changes will be one of many players set to depart when their contracts expire at the end of the season.

Vladimir Coufal, Ben Johnson, Michail Antonio and Angelo Ogbonna are all coming to the end of their contracts and, as it stands, have not committed to extending their stay in East London.

What’s next for West Ham?

There is no doubt that supporters will be feeling anxious about what the future holds for West Ham, as the huge changes ahead lead to uncertainty where nothing short of a perfectly executed transfer window will be acceptable.

The Hammers are on course to qualify for European football once again after drastically improving their form in the Premier League from last season, however, their spot inside the top seven is not promised as of yet.

As each fixture passes, Moyes’ future at the club seems lesser promised and settling the Scottish manager’s fate will need to be quickly resolved so that the club’s hierarchy can focus on either bringing in a new manager or recruiting to further inject quality and talent into the first-team squad.

With that being said, a cloud of uncertainty hangs over the London Stadium at present and although the West Ham faithful will be concerned, change is on the horizon whether that be in the squad, in the dug out or both.
