The agent of Fenerbahce striker Moussa Sow has admitted that a host of European teams, including West Ham, were interested in the African attacker over the summer.

The 30-year-old Senegalese attacker is on the books of Al Ahli but has returned to his former club in Turkey on a loan deal for the 2016-17 campaign.

However, Ismail Sow, who is also the star’s brother, has stated that the hotshot forward had plenty of options when deciding where to spend this season.

The former France U21 international could well have ended up in the Premier League but instead opted for a switch back to Istanbul.

“Crystal Palace, Sunderland, West Ham and Nice also wanted him,” the agent told Fanatik.

“But my brother’s desire has always been to go to Fenerbahce.

“In addition we had contact with Besiktas. However, for Moussa it was impossible to transfer to Besiktas or another Turkish team.

“If Fenerbahce were not in question, Moussa would not play for another [Turkish] team. He has a special bond with Fenerbahce.”

West Ham have added Simone Zaza, Andre Ayew and Jonathan Calleri to their attacking ranks over the summer, which will give Slaven Bilic options in the final third this term.

Sow has a consistent record of scoring wherever he has been but would not have been the star name that the London club have craved in recent months.
