West Ham United have turned their attention to Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini and have made an offer of €25 million (£21 million) for the Italy international according to Calcio Mercato.
The Hammers have ben searching all-summer long for a new number nine but have found the going tough as a number of targets have rejected approaches by the east London outfit.
With Carlo Bacca stalling on a potential switch to the Clarets, the latest report suggests that Slaven Bilic’s men have turned their attention to another Serie A star.
Gabbiadini had an excellent scoring record for Sampdoria but has found first-team football hard to come by since moving to Naples.
The 24-year-old’s importance to Napoli remains to be seen following Gonzalo Higuain’s move to Juventus, but the striker only started four Serie A games in 2015-16.
An offer of €25 million seems excessive, especially given that Napoli paid Sampdoria only €13 million for him back in 2015.
