West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed that the east London club are close to confirming the signature of two new players.

The Hammers went down 3-2 to Italian champions Juventus on Sunday in a pre-season friendly and are gearing up for the new Premier League season starting next weekend.

Bilic and the powers that be at the club have been busy in the transfer market this summer, with a new striker and a left-back currently the priorities.

The Croatian manager has admitted that two new deals are imminent and should be wrapped up on Monday.

“We are quite close to getting two new players,” SBS quote Bilic as saying.

“I hoped it would be yesterday and they would play a part today but the paperwork was not done. It’s only a matter of paperwork and then we will have two new players at West Ham.”

Although Bilic did not mention by name who the new recruits would be, it is widely accepted that Andre Ayew is heading to the Hammers after Swansea landed two new attacking players.

The other signing is thought to be Olympiakos left-back Arthur Masuaku, who will fill the void that Aaron Cresswell’s injury has made.
