West Ham could well face competition from London rivals Arsenal for Lyon winder Rachid Ghezzal, according to France Football.

The Algeria international is in the last year of his contract with the Ligue 1 club and is being touted with a switch to an English club, with the French side confirming an offer from the Hammers was rejected earlier this summer.

Talk in the press has suggested that Ghezzal has been relegated to train with the Lyon reserves as his future is sorted out, which could accelerate his move to England.

The Gunners have had a quiet summer in the transfer window, much to the club’s fans’ frustration, and could well be set to make a move for the speedy wide man if the latest report is to be believed.

West Ham have a host of options in wide areas when everyone is fit, but with club-record signing Andre Ayew picking up a serious injury in his debut for the Hammers, a move for Ghezzal could well fill the void.
