West Brom are ready to spend a club-record transfer fee to land wantaway West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho, according to The Birmingham Mail.

The Senegalese forward looks set for the Olympic Stadium door after refusing to attend a Hammers pre-season training camp in Austria.

The London club are in the market for a new high-profile striker and as such Sakho appears to be surplus to requirements, but will not be allowed to leave before a replacement is signed, sealed and delivered.

The Baggies are one of a host of Premier League teams being linked with a move for the African attacker and Tony Pulis is said to be a big fan of the West Ham forward.

The Hawthorns outfit splashed £12 million to land Venezuelan forward Salomon Rondon but are believed to be ready to usurp this figure in a bid to ensure Sakho is on their books come the start of the new season.
