West Ham United are set to conclude a deal to sign Jonathan Calleri according to Esporte, with the London club believed to have beaten Inter Milan and Sevilla to the Argentine’s capture.

The Hammers have been linked with strikers all summer long, with the London club eager to leaned a proven goalscorer before the start of the 2016-17 campaign.

Calleri has impressed both for Boca Juniors and on loan at Sao Paulo, with a switch to Europe the next obvious move for the South American ace.

West Ham have been linked with the centre forward for a number of months but were thought to have been put off by the fact that Calleri has been included in Argentina’s squad for the Olympic Games – meaning he would not be available for the start of the new Premier League season.

However, the report suggests that it is only a matter of days until an agreement is reached, with the Hammers offering a more lucrative financial package than their European rivals.
