West Ham United will not be reunited with former striker Carlos Tevez, with the Argentine striker stating that he is intent on staying with current club Boca Juniors.

The gifted forward played with the Hammers for one season and has been mentioned as a potential solution to the club’s striking woes this summer.

Tevez was rumoured to have fallen out with officials at the Buenos Aires club, which prompted rumblings that the South American could well be open to a quick-fire return to European football.

West Ham are eager to sign a high-profile centre forward and the superb veteran would surely have been a favourite among the Olympic Stadium faithful had he returned to London.

However, Tevez has ended speculation over his club future by stating that he will not be moving back to Europe and that he is committed to retiring from the game at the Bombonera.

“I’m going to carry on at Boca, whether Napoli or Chelsea or anyone else comes,” BeIn Sports report him as saying.

“I’ll continue here to fight with my team-mates.

“I always try to do the best for the club and my idea has always been to retire at Boca.”
