West Ham wonderkid Reece Oxford is close to signing a new contract with the London outfit, if a report by a club insider on the official website is to be believed.
The 17-year-old is adjudged as one of the most promising players in his age group in England and has already made a number of impressive cameos for the London club despite his tender age.
Oxford is being touted as a possible future West Ham captain but the Hammers are seemingly set to face a battle to hold onto their prize asset this summer.
Manchester Untied are one of a host of Premier League rivals believed to be interested in the defender, who is said to be stalling on a new contract with his current employers.
However, the report by a supposed club insider has stated that West Ham are being bullish with Oxford and have told him that he will not be leaving the London side this summer.
As a result, it is believed that the 17-year-old will put pen to paper on an extension to his current terms and as such this will end interest from other clubs.
