A deal to bring Nigerian starlet Ezekiel Bassey to West Ham is on the verge of collapse according to allnigeriasoccer.com, with the player’s current club not allowing the ace to travel to London for a trial.
The Hammers are expected to be one of the busiest Premier League teams in the transfer market this summer and have already secured a deal for free agent Havard Nordveit.
This comes on the back of Slaven Bilic actively pursuing a number of young starlets to add to the club’s youth ranks, with the likes of Domingos Quina and Toni Martinez signing on with the London outfit.
Bassey is a rising star of the Nigerian game and has been linked with a move to West Ham over recent months.
The report suggests that the African star wants to travel to England to take part in the club’s pre-season training on trial, which has been offered by the Premier League side.
However, with Nigerian national champions Enyimba set to feature in the CAF Champions League, the player will not be released and is needed to feature in the continental tournament, which could blight his chances of a permanent move to the Hammers.
