West Ham United have made a £10 million bid for Croatian starlet Ante Coric, according to a newspaper in his homeland, Vecernji List.
The 19-year-old is being touted as one of the brightest prospects in European football and has made a real impression with club Dinamo Zagreb.
Coric is being tipped with a move to one of Europe’s major leagues and Bilic clearly has a close interest in the teenager given their mutual nationality.
The playmaker has been rewarded for star performances at club level, with the starlet making his international debut earlier this year and now included in the Euro 2016 squad for the tournament in France.
Although the likes of Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic and Ivan Rakitic are understandably ahead of him in the Croatian pecking order, Coric could well be a wildcard option for his nation at this summer’s tournament.
West Ham are believed to want to steel a march on fellow suitors with an early bid this summer, in what would be an exciting signing.
