Former West Ham United loanee Alex Song is being linked with a return to London, with Spanish newspaper Sport claiming that the Cameroon international could well be set to move to Crystal Palace.

The African midfielder spent two seasons with the Hammers at the Boleyn Ground but was sent back to Barcelona this summer, with Slaven Bilic’s men turning down the option to make his switch permanent.

With the wealth of midfield talent available to Luis Enrique at Camp Nou, Song is unlikely to feature for the Catalan giants next season and as such looks set to spend the last year of his contract out on loan again.

Song had an excellent first season with West Ham and was a key part of the team that showed real promise.

However, last term the former Arsenal playmaker struggled with form and fitness, with the likes of Mark Noble and Cheikhou Kouyate dominating the boiler room for Bilic’s side.
