Manchester United have made the first move in trying to pry Reece Oxford away from West Ham United, with ESPN claiming that the Old Trafford outfit have made contact with the player’s agent.

The 17-year-old wonder kid is being tipped to have a bright future in the game and has already starred in the Premier League for the Hammers, despite his young age.

Despite Oxford set to have a bright future at his boyhood club, it has been heavily reported in the press that the teenager is stalling on a new deal with the London side and has made substantial financial demands if he is to extend his time with Slaven Bilic’s men.

Both Manchester clubs have been linked with a move for the defender, with the latest report suggesting that the Red Devils have started the ball rolling by sounding out the starlet’s representatives.

The story suggests that United are willing to pay £10 million for Oxford’s services.
