West Ham United will have to pay close to £25 million if they are to land Manchester United outcast Memphis Depay this summer, according to Fichajes.

The Netherlands international has had an underwhelming inaugural campaign at Old Trafford and has spent most of his time on the fringes of Louis van Gaal’s first team.

As such, it is being tipped that Depay will leave the Red Devils this summer and the Hammers are widely being touted as potential suitors of the former PSV Eindhoven star.

However, the latest report suggests that United are not willing to accept a big financial loss on the Dutch attacker and drive a hard bargain to recoup most of the £25 million they paid for him 12 months ago.

Although Depay clearly has ability, whether the London club should shell out so much of their transfer budget to bring him to the Olympic Stadium remains to be seen.
