West Ham United have decided against a summer move for Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to focus on concluding a deal for a big-name striker, The Mirror report.

The Hammers are expected to be expansive in the transfer market this summer before they move to the Olympic Stadium in 2016-17.

Slaven Bilic’s men were being linked with a move for Oxlade-Chamberlain, who would bolster the London club’s midfield ranks.

The England international has struggled for regular first-team football at the Emirates Stadium and has a list of Premier League suitors ready to take him off Arsene Wenger’s hands.

However, the latest report suggests that West Ham have made the decision to move away from the Arsenal star and will instead focus their energies on landing a centre forward.

Players such as Michy Batshuayi, Christian Benteke and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have all been linked with the Boleyn Ground outfit.
