Michael Owen is backing Manuel Pellegrini to guide West Ham to their fifth league win in a row when they face Watford on Saturday.

The Hammers are set to host the Hornets at the London Stadium and the BT Sport pundit believes the clash between the two Premier League sides promises to be entertaining.

Owen shared that given the Hornet’s defensive record along with the fact Pellegrini’s side have been among the goals as of late, he believed the contest would see a lot of goalmouth action.

“You have to go back to February 2006 for the last time West Ham won five successive PL games, but I expect Manuel Pellegrini’s side to do just that in what promises to be an entertaining clash with Watford,” wrote the pundit for BetVictor.

“The Hammers have won four of their last six PL home games and scored at least three times in each of those successes – I expect them to be among the goals again against a Hornets side who have conceded at least twice in their last five PL games and have picked up just 10 points from the last 60 available away from Vicarage Road.

West Ham to win and over 3.5 goals.”

OPINION

Owen seems confident that the Hammers will be full of joy after facing Watford on Saturday. As the pundit highlighted it has been way too long since the Hammers have recorded five wins in a row but they have a real chance of doing that when facing Javi Garcia’s side. While the Hornets have been defying expectations this season to sit comfortably in the Premier League, the Hammers are more than capable of beating them. It’s hard to disagree with Owen’s assessment that this clash will be entertaining as both sides are likely to throw everything but the kitchen sink at each other to get the win. It’ll be intriguing to see who emerges victorious as ahead of the Hammers’ winning streak, it’s fair to say the London club were just as inconsistent as the Hornets are this season. The Hammers were in clinical form against Fulham last weekend and if the club’s attackers continue to be on song, Watford should be worried about Saturday’s match at the London Stadium.
