West Ham attacker Michail Antonio’s recent revival of his form for the better has made the Hammers take a reported blow in the race to sign Chelsea player Victor Moses irrelevant.

The Sun reported on Friday that while the Hammers and Wolves had expressed an interest in recruiting the 28-year-old, he looks set to join Crystal Palace in a £12million deal in January.

While Moses, who earns £75,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge (Source: Spotrac) would have been a welcomed addition at the London Stadium, the Hammers can cope without him.

It’s fair to say if the Hammers had been dealt this blow a few weeks ago, Manuel Pellegrini probably would have started trying to think of other wingers to target next month but Antonio’s improvement means he doesn’t have to.

The resurgent 28-year-old has turned his form completely around as of late and now looks like being back to his best.

Antonio struggled in the first few of the 17 outings he has made this season but in the recent clashes with Fulham and Cardiff he has looked the real deal.

The winger has looked strong on the board and has even showcased his blistering pace, which in his first few appearances this season seemed to have abandoned him.

Given that Antonio isn’t a guaranteed starter as Robert Snodgrass and Felipe Anderson have been wing wizards this season, he can prove cover for both of them due to his versatility.

Antonio is definitely enough cover for the Hammers’ flank especially when you consider youngster Grady Diangana is also sniffing around the first-team.

Therefore while the Hammers have taken a reported major blow in the race to sign Premier League winger Moses ahead of the January window opening, Antonio’s return to form makes it all rather irrelevant.
