Stephen Warnock heaped praise on West Ham’s attacking trio of Andriy Yarmolenko, Marko Arnautovic and Felipe Anderson for their displays during the 3-1 win over Manchester United.

The BBC pundit highlighted the link-up play between the three attacking players and claimed they were great to watch as they were always looking for the killer pass.

Warnock added that the trio were clearly confident as he stated that they didn’t want something to happen when they had the ball, they expected it to.

“They have the movement has been superb, the link-up play between the three, you can see they’re always looking for each other,” said Warnock on BBC 5 Live Sport (Saturday September 29th, 13:17).

“They’re looking to see whether they can pick that next killer pass and really hurt United and it’s great to watch.

“You can sense it around the Stadium as well Chappers, every time they pick the ball up, the front three, they are expectant, they want something to happen and they expect it to happen.”

OPINION

Warnock’s praise of the Hammers’ attacking trio is more than justified as they stole the show against Manchester United. All three players could have taken a bow following their performance and if they play like that again this season, the Hammers’ Premier League opponents should be quaking in their boots. Yarmolenko, Anderson and Arnautovic all have the skill set to cause any side problems and while Man United weren’t at their best on Saturday, their performances should be undermined for that reason. Hopefully Manuel Pellegrini is able to keep all three in tip-top shape as he could easily build a team around them based on their effectiveness up front that could eventually see the Hammers qualify for European competitions. While the Hammers will just want to aim to get away from the relegation zone as it stands after a dreadful start to the season, the form of the attacking trio should have supporters of the London club imaging a bright future.
