There are very few deals that would make West Ham’s summer of big spending even better, but the club are reportedly in negotiations for one that would round off the window in a perfect manner.

As reported by club insider ExWHUemployee, the Hammers remain in negotiations with Inter Milan over another loan move for Portugal international playmaker Joao Mario.

Ex claims that the club are in discussions over a loan move ‘if possible’, which seems to suggest that Inter are still holding out for a permanent deal.

However, with the window edging towards a close, the Hammers are putting themselves in a brilliant position to pounce should a loan move become a possibility.

And this would be a brilliant way for the club to round off a flawless summer as they head into what promises to be an exciting season under Manuel Pellegrini.

With Manuel Lanzini set to miss the majority of the season through injury, the Irons are in desperate need of someone to fill in his spot in attacking midfield.

Mario showed during his loan spell at the club last season that he has what it takes to do so, with the Portugal international really finding his feet towards the end of the campaign.

Without the presence of a player like Lanzini or Mario, the Hammers may find it hard being lethal attacking through the middle  and picking that crucial pass in the final third next season.

They have pace on the wings and they have threat up front, that cannot be doubted, but they are currently lacking that playmaker who can carve defences apart.

Bringing in Mario on another loan would give the club exactly the player they need while also allowing them to keep their spending low in the final days of the window.

It is the perfect move for the club to make as they look to finish off the summer with a flourish, and they must push hard to help it become a reality in the coming days.
