West Ham midfielder Mark Noble oozed class as he submitted yet another simple but stylish performance against Everton on Sunday.

The 31-year-old central midfielder has looked back to his best in the final weeks of the season and put in another good display to help the Hammers beat the Toffees 3-1 in their final league game of the season.

However witnessing Noble put in the performances that he is capable of was a rare sight for much of the campaign.

In the majority of his 32 appearances this season, it appeared as if age had caught up with the midfielder as he seemed unable to put together a display that anyone had a nice word to say about.

It was always hard to criticise Noble, even when he was struggling to perform, as it was clearly not through a lack of effort that he was unable to positively help his side.

There’s a reason why the midfielder is seen as Mr.West Ham, aside from having made it all the way to the first-team from the academy system, he always has the club’s best interests in his heart.

The Hammers need him at the core of their team driving his side forward using passion, but they also need him to put in displays that aid the team’s efforts to climb the Premier League.

Noble proved in the final weeks of the season that he was still capable of delivering the simple, but necessary, passes to aid his side’s attack while also successfully being able to foil his club’s opponents by winning the ball back in the heart of the midfield.

Therefore in order for the Hammers to progress next season, the club need a player such as Noble to constantly submit the displays he is truly capable of.

If he fails to deliver consistency then whoever is in charge of the Hammers next season will axe the 31-year-old from their first-team plans.

This all means that after another classy display against the Toffees on Sunday, Noble must be more consistent next season and make his stylish performances a common sight or face no longer being a first-team regular.
