David Moyes has informed the West Ham board that he wants Robert Snodgrass to have a first-team role at the London Stadium next season, according to Teamtalk.

The news outlet claims that Moyes has told the club’s hierarchy that the 30-year-old midfielder must feature in the next campaign.

It is understood that the Hammers owners have question the £10million signing of the right-winger since he joined in January 2017 and he has spent this whole season out on loan with Aston Villa in the Championship.

The report details that promotion chasers Villa want to sign the Scotsman ahead of next season regardless of what division they are in, but Moyes is keen to block his permanent exit and wants to integrate him to the first team.

Snodgrass has been a discard at the London Stadium during his first 18 months, but on loan at Aston Villa he has scored eight goals and supplied 13 assists in 40 appearances.

OPINION

West Ham can’t begin to think about their squad next season until the manager’s position is resolved and Moyes revealed after the final match of the Premier League season on Sunday that his short-term deal with the club expired at midnight. The Hammers are yet to reveal anything today (Monday) about the hot-seat at the London Stadium and supporters are being left in the dark. A large selection of the supporters are keen to see the Scottish boss depart after he fulfilled his role of avoiding relegation and are unsure if he can drive the club forward further. Moyes is believed to be keen on using Snodgrass next year if he remains with West Ham, but right now it’s too early to see where his future may lie. The wide man hardly got a fair crack in London to show what he can do and the assist king can be a highly influential playmaker on his day.
