West Ham have plenty of work to do this summer to improve their fortunes, after spending the campaign flirting with relegation to the Championship.

David Moyes has had to endure a wealth of defensive problems in recent months, with injury concerns depleting his squad of options and other members of his side failing to impress- which will lead to transfer activity this summer.

The Hammers are one of many sides keeping tabs on Fulham’s Ryan Fredericks, who is poised to become a free agent in a few months, but face competition in the market from Everton and Swansea City.

However, The Daily Mirror (April 11th, page 60) state in their printed edition that Moyes is confident of securing a deal for the 25-year-old ahead of his Premier League rivals.

A significant boost is also issued as the report states London-born Fredericks is keen to remain in the capital, making a move to West Ham the most likely option- although he has suggested recently that he could sign a new deal at Craven Cottage.
