West Ham are facing a fight to keep hold of some exciting players this summer but the Hammers are ready to bite back in the market.

The Daily Mail states David Moyes’ side are preparing to hand a new contract to 20-year-old forward Marcus Browne, who made headlines for the U23 side this week with a four-goal haul against Everton.

Scouts from Napoli, Sevilla, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig were present at the game, with the latter seriously keen on landing the £5m-rated forward as they seek to add more British talent to their side.

The Bundesliga has become a haven for British talents in recent seasons, with Jadon Sancho excelling at Borussia Dortmund and West Ham’s Reece Oxford impressing during his opportunities with Borussia Monchengladbach.

However West Ham, who have struggled for stability with their forward options this season, believe Browne can force his way into the first-team fold next season, following in the footsteps of fellow academy graduate Declan Rice.

Browne only signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Hammers in January 2017 but his form for the U23 side this season is set to be rewarded, as West Ham seek to secure the forward’s services for the long-term.
