Massive changes are needed at West Ham this summer, as the Hammers seek to find the stability and consistency that has so far evaded them since they made a controversial move to the London Stadium 18 months ago.
David Moyes initially steadied the ship but three consecutive defeats have left the Hammers just three points above the relegation zone, whilst the murmurs of discontent amongst the fanbase have since exploded onto a much grander, and uglier, scale.
Moyes made no secret of his intent to bolster his midfield ranks during the January transfer window but struggled to get deals over the line, eventually signing Joao Mario on-loan from Inter Milan, but it’s now understood that the Portuguese international isn’t a target for a permanent switch.
He does represent the sort of calibre that West Ham are looking for though and top-class additions in central midfield are required, which is why the Hammers are likely to look towards Champions League clubs for targets- and these three would be stellar options.
