West Ham are set for a crucial end to the season, with the Hammers looking to improve on a lack of consistency that has plagued their side this season in order to fend off the looming threat of relegation.

The Hammers sit just three points above the relegation zone in one of the most fiercest battles at the bottom of the table in recent years, heading into a testing run of fixtures against Watford, Liverpool, Swansea, Burnley, Manchester United and Southampton.

Things started to go wrong in the early periods of the season under the tenure of Slaven Bilic but the appointment of David Moyes steadied the ship initially, although problems have started to surface again in recent matches.

Moyes’ side have now failed to win each of their last three matches, all of which have been against fellow relegation contenders, and it’s led to claims that the Hammers will look to move away from Moyes later this year.

However, the East London side moved quickly to deny those claims by issuing a statement which read:

“There is absolutely no truth whatsoever to this story. As previously stated on a number of occasions, the Club and David Moyes agreed a deal until the end of the 2017/18 season, at which point both parties will sit down and discuss the future.”

“Until then, the Board and David Moyes will continue to work closely together with the Manager having full responsibility of footballing matters and the full support of the Board. Everyone’s sole focus is on trying to achieve results for West Ham United.”

Against a Watford side who have lost form in recent weeks, West Ham will hope for a positive result but the difficult matches on the horizon suggest further difficulties may lie ahead.
