West Ham are set for a frantic final few days of the January transfer window, as David Moyes looks to significantly bolster his side for the remainder of the Premier League season.

Defeat to Wigan Athletic on Saturday in the FA Cup means that survival is now the only objective for the Hammers this season and they face a crucial game this week against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace, as Moyes’ side seek to extend their six-point advantage over the relegation zone.

However, the Hammers encountered an additional blow in the defeat to Wigan as Spanish midfielder Pedro Obiang picked up an injury- and reports cited by Sports Witness claim that means a move for an international target is back on.

Anderlecht ace Leander Dendoncker has been widely linked with a move to the Premier League this month but West Ham seemingly pulled out of the running following the capture of Joao Mario on-loan, whilst they continue to chase Fulham’s Tom Cairney.

Obiang’s injury may well change the situation though and the latest reports claim that it means a move for Belgian international Dendoncker is well and truly on, although a significant offer would have to be lodged to persuade Anderlecht to sell.
