West Ham boss David Moyes is continuing in his quest to bolster his defence despite the closure of the transfer window, having landed free-agent Patrice Evra this week.

The 36-year-old represents a short-term option for a side struggling to assure themselves of Premier League safety this season and the Hammers are aware of the need for improvements in the long-term, which is perhaps why they continue to chase another addition.

According to Soka25West Ham are confident of beating fellow Premier League side Daniel Opare to the services of Augsburg’s Daniel Opare- who is free to discuss a new deal with sides outside of Germany ahead of the expiration of his contract this summer.

The 27-year-old Ghanian was keen to leave his current employers in the January transfer window but his requests were denied, though Augsburg will have no power to stop the African ace from leaving at the end of the season.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce is keen on Opare to provide competition to Seamus Coleman but the reports suggest his side are to miss out, with West Ham winning the chase.
