Embracing youth & replacing old guard
There have been occasions where West Ham’s youth policy has been criticised, especially with Reece Oxford joining Borussia Monchengladbach on-loan. However, Moyes has led to improvements and his tenure has seen Declan Rice become a regular feature.
That needs to continue into next season and Rice needs to be joined in the first-team frame by other young talents, particularly as the likes of Pablo Zabaleta, Patrice Evra, James Collins and Jose Fonte, amongst others, are in the twilight years of their careers.
A fresh, young side with plenty of talent can provide inspiration, which may be crucial in the last challenge we’ve identified.
