West Ham are still searching for their first victory under David Moyes, with the Hammers drawing 1-1 with Leicester City on Friday night.

That draw meant that the East London side remain in the Premier League’s bottom three for the time being and raises the stakes ahead of a crucial midweek clash against fellow strugglers Everton on Wednesday evening.

It’s clear that West Ham’s biggest issue has been in front of goal this season, with the Hammers scoring just 12 goals in 13 matches, and Moyes is keen to solve this issue when the transfer window reopens in January.

According to The Mail, West Ham are eyeing a £15m swoop for Krasnodor striker Fyodor Smolov, who was reportedly a target for Borussia Dortmund in the summer as they explored potential replacements for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Russian captain is set to lead his nation’s line in next summer’s World Cup and solid performances in the competition could see his value rise significantly, so West Ham are looking to seal a deal before that happens.

Smolov has scored ten goals this season, significantly more than any West Ham player has managed, and would provide a huge boost to a front-line that’s struggling at the London Stadium.
