West Ham are struggling to find their feet in the Premier League this season and haven’t hit form, with one big reason being that the club haven’t yet settled into an established first-choice line-up.

Summer signing Javier Hernandez is yet to score in a Premier League victory for the Hammers, with each of his three goals coming in defeats, and the Mexican striker seems out of sync with his team-mates; particularly Andy Carroll.

The 28-year-old forward has been partnered with Hernandez at times this season, with the Mexican even moved out wide to accommodate the former Liverpool man, and it hasn’t led to results.

Dropping Carroll is not an easy decision, due to his service for the Hammers, and it’s an issue that has been identified by former West Ham defender Matthew Upson- who told The Debate on Sky Sports that having Carroll is proving to be a big issue.

“I think it’s difficult when you have a player like Andy Carroll as well who can bring so much to the team in terms of having an impact, but you can’t seem to use him every week, because it’s a huge adjustment to play with and without him,”

“With him in the team and Hernandez and good wide players, they’re going to cross the ball, they’re going to cause anyone a problem. But when you can’t put that together every week to get a rhythm and get those results going, it’s stop-start.”

Bilic may have to shuffle his deck to find a solution and it’s an issue that any replacement will look to resolve immediately, should changes to the management be made.
