West Ham United will take on Cheltenham Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

It is the second time in five seasons the two clubs have been drawn against each other in the competition, and the Hammers will travel to Waddon Road the week commencing August 21.

The tie was originally drawn for West Ham to play at the London Stadium, however due to the World Athletics Championships meaning the stadium would not be ready for the tie, the FA have given permission for the club to instead play away from home.

The switch means West Ham will now play four consecutive fixtures away from home before their first game at the London Stadium in mid September when they welcome Huddersfield Town in the Premier League.

West Ham faced Cheltenham at the Boleyn Ground at the same stage of this competition in August 2013, triumphing 2-1 thanks to goals from Ricardo Vaz Te and Ravel Morrison.
