West Ham’s players and Slaven Bilic will have woken up this morning thinking about what could have, and perhaps should have, been yesterday against Stoke City at the London Stadium.
The Hammers were in control for large portions of the game even if chances were coming at a premium and you felt that once they’d scored via a Glenn Whelan own goal they would see the match out to secure another three points at home.
However, things did not turn out to be that straightforward as Stoke hit back thanks to a goalkeeping calamity from Adrian that allowed Bojan the simplest of goals to level the game.
1-1 was how it would finish as the Hammers were made to rue that one mistake that cost them a third home win on the spin in all competitions.
