West Ham United playmaker Dimitri Payet wanted to leave the club to join Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain over the summer, according to Squawka.
The France international has risen to become one of the Premier League’s most-feared attacker’s in his 12 months on the Hammers’ books, with a stunning debut campaign for the 29-year-old in 2015-16.
Payet went on to be shortlisted for the PFA Player of the Year award and stunning showings for France at Euro 2016 only added to the former Marseille winger’s reputation.
Payet signed a new big-money contract with West Ham back in February and as such has committed to the London club for the foreseeable future.
