West Ham United are locked in a battle with Italian giants for Palermo left-back Achraf Lazaar, according to a prominent Portuguese journalist.
The Hammers are desperate to recruit a specialist in the position following Aaron Cresswell’s cruciate ligament injury, which will keep the star on the sidelines for a couple of months.
A host of different players have been linked with a move to the London Stadium, with the possibility of a loan deal also on the table.
Lazaar has been on Palermo’s books since 2014, making over 70 Serie A appearances for the modest Sicilian club.
A Morocco international, the 24-year-old is versatile enough to play in midfield also.
