Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is considering a shock move for West Ham United centre forward Andy Carroll, The Express report.
The Selhurst Park outfit are desperate to land a new number nine before the close of the transfer window, with Conor Wickham the only striker of note in the Eagles’ squad.
The latest report suggests that Palace are monitoring Christian Benteke’s situation at Liverpool but could turn to Carroll if an approach to land the Belgian is unsuccessful.
West Ham have added Jonathan Calleri and Andre Ayew to their squad this summer and now have a host of options in the final third.
Carroll is still expected to play a prominent role in Slaven Bilic’s thoughts as the only out-and-out target man at the club’s disposal.
As such, it would be a major surprise if West Ham were willing to negotiate with Palace over the former Newcastle United star’s sale this summer.
