West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has stated that the east London club will not make another approach for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer.

The Hammers were in the market for a goalsocrer this summer and have concluded a deal to bring Argentine hotshot Jonathan Calleri to the club on a loan basis.

Speculation in the press continues to link the Clarets with moves for a number of number nines, with the Carlos Bacca saga still not decided one way or the other.

West Ham had a sizeable offer rejected for Lacazette earlier this summer, with the French club keen to hold onto their prized asset ahead of a campaign that includes Champions League football.

Talk in the media suggested that the Hammers could well return with an improved offer, but Bilic has stated that this will not be the case.

“100 per cent we will not go for Lacazette. We will sign Calleri and he will be with us pretty soon depending on the work permit,” he told Sky Sports.

“He is a top striker and we have a good balance in the squad. We have a big couple of weeks in front of us with five big games.”

West Ham start their new Premier League campaign against London rivals Chelsea on Monday night.
