West Ham United have agreed a deal to land hotshot Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri, with the South American just needing to be granted a work permit before being unveiled by the London club, Jack Sullivan has revealed.

The Hammers have been on the case of the Boca Juniors attacker all summer long, with the gifted attacker impressed last term on loan at Brazilian side Sao Paulo.

Calleri has been scouted by a host of European clubs and is set to feature in the Olympic Games for Argentina this summer.

Sullivan has given West Ham fans the good news on Twitter, stating that a work permit is all that stands in the way of Slaven Bilic having another forward at his disposal.

Should a work permit be granted, Calleri’s debut for West Ham is expected to be delayed as the star features in the Olympics and as such would miss the start of the new Premier League season.
