West Ham United are close to agreeing a six-month loan move for impressive striker Jonathan Calleri, according to an Argentine journalist.
The Hammers are in the market for a new number nine, with a wealth of names being linked with a switch to the Olympic stadium club.
Calleri’s name was mentioned as a possible target earlier in the summer, but talk of a move to the East London club has died down in recent times.
The versatile forward has been named in Argentina’s squad for the Rio Olympic Games after an impressive loan stint at Brazilian club Sao Paulo.
With Calleri returning to childhood club Boca Juniors, it seems like only a matter of time before the number nine gets another move away from his homeland, with Europe a potential destination.
Cesar Luis Merlo has taken to Twitter to claim that West Ham are close to finalising a six-month loan move for the South American.

As can be seen above, the journalist has stated “Jonathan Calleri, close to go to West Ham. There is a concrete chance to go on loan for six months.”
