West Ham United are considering a move to sign Fiorentina’s Khouma Babacar should their attempts to land Carlos Bacca not materialise, according to Tuttosport.

Slaven Bilic’s men are desperately trying to add a new number nine of note to take the club into the next era at the Olympic Stadium.

A number of attempts to land high-profile strikers have failed so far this summer, with the Hammers also being priced out of moves for some targets also.

Bacca is currently the name most commonly linked with West Ham, but the Colombian has been outspoken about his desire to play Champions League football – which he will not receive at AC Milan or the Hammers.

Babacar is not an automatic first choice at Fiorentina but has impressed the Stadio Artemio Franchi crowd with his pace, power and stature over recent seasons.

The 23-year-old Senegalese attacker made 11 starts for the Viola last season, scoring five goals in the process.
