Tottenham have reportedly baulked at Marseille’s valuation of striker Michy Batshuayi, according to Maxifoot, which could well work in West Ham’s favour.

The Belgium international has been lighting up Ligue 1 with his shows of athleticism and power, scoring goals at will for the south coast club.

With the Stade Velodrome outfit facing financial difficulties, Batshuayi is expected to depart the French club this summer and has no shortage of suitors.

Mauricio Pochettino has admitted his admiration for the former Standard Liege attacker in the past, but Spurs are believed to be reluctant to go anywhere near the striker’s €40 million valuation.

With Tottenham only willing to pay €20-25 million, this could well open up an opportunity for West Ham to steal in and snatch Batsyhauyi away from their London rivals.

With the Hammers willing to have paid £31 million for Alexandre Lacazette, a similar offer would surely have them as frontrunners for the Marseille attacker.
