West Ham United have been linked with a sensational move to re-sign former striker Demba Ba, with France Football claiming that that the Hammers are one of the teams keeping tabs on the African attacker.

The Senegal international was on the London club’s books for six months in 2011, scoring seven goals in 12 outings for the side before being poached by Newcastle due to a release clause in his contract.

Ba continued to be prolific at the St James’ Park club before being sold to Chelsea – he now represents Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua and had one lethal campaign with Slaven Bilic at Besiktas.

With his tenure in China potentially coming to an end, a host of Premier League clubs including West Ham, Crystal Palace and West Brom are all believed to be interested in the 30-year-old.

Given that the Hammers are in the market for strikers, bringing Ba back to the club might not be the worst deal they could do this summer.
