Alexandre Lacazette told Lyon to reject an offer from West Ham due to the Hammers not qualifying for the Champions League, a report in Get Football News France states.

The London club are in the market for a deadly number nine and bid £31 million for the France international earlier this month.

However, Lyon rejected the offer and owner Jean-Michel Aulas has since stated that the Ligue 1 outfit want to keep the striker but could let him leave should he request.

With a host of other European clubs thought to covet the potent forward, Lacazette is not set to be short of options should he want a transfer this summer.

As such, Champions League football appears to be a priority for the star, with the latest report suggesting that he was not willing to join Slaven Bilic’s men without participation in Europe’s top club competition.

West Ham were in the running to finish in the top four but were eventually edged out.
