Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that West Ham United have made a bid for attacking pair Callum Wilson and Matt Ritchie.

The Hammers are in the market for new recruits and are seemingly eager to get the ball rolling on their transfer activity early.

A bid for Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette has also been rejected, with the Cherries boss stating that Slaven Bilic’s men are after the Bournemouth duo.

Howe admitted that he was not happy with the time of West Ham’s offers, especially given that the Vitality Stadium outfit still had their final Premier League game of their Premier League season still to play.

“We had a bid yesterday evening,” The Express quote Howe as saying.

“Why it come in the day before our season has finished, I don’t know.

“It was from West Ham but the bid was rejected and we have no intention to sell. We want to try to improve our squad, not weaken it.”

Given that the pair are seemingly not for sale and Lyon are keen to hang onto Lacazette, West Ham may well have to rethink their recruitment strategy this summer and look to other targets.

Wilson in particular would be an exciting addition to the Hammers’ squad but it looks like Bournemouth may hold onto the striker.
