Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin has stated that despite speculation linking Andre Ayew with a move away from the club, he wants the African star to stay in South Wales.

West Ham are among a number of clubs reported interested in the former Marseille man, who has admitted that his future at the Liberty Stadium is up in the air.

The British press state that a host of Premier League rivals will look to tempt Ayew away from Swansea and a fee in the region of £15 million would be enough to seal a deal for the versatile forward.

The Hammers are eager to bolster their options in the final third and Ayew has been reportedly identified due to his ability to play in a number of different positions.

However, despite nothing being confirmed as yet, Guidolin has stated that he wants the attacking ace to step out for Swansea next season and turn down interest from elsewhere.

“I hope he stays. I don’t know, but we have discovered other good characteristics with him,” the Italian is quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.

“He says he is not a striker and he is a midfielder but in my opinion he is a striker. He is also a good false nine.

“He is a big player, but his attitude is good. He is an important player, but he is quiet, a good guy.”
