West Ham’s chances of completing an audacious move for Arsenal’s Theo Walcott have improved, with The Sun claiming that the flying winger will be allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer and be replaced by Riyad Mahrez.

The Hammers have been linked with a move for the England international this month, with Slaven Bilic’s men in the market for big-name signings to kick off their Olympic Stadium era.

Walcott has become frustrated at his lack of football for the Gunners and with his Euro 2016 place under threat is expected to seek an exit from the North London club at the end of the current campaign.

The latest report suggests that Arsene Wenger has conceded that the former Southampton prodigy will leave the club this summer and wants Leicester city star Mahrez to replace him.

The Algerian attacker has been a key man in the Foxes’ push for the Premier League title this season and is a frontrunner for the PFA Player of the Year award.
