West Ham superstar Dimitri Payet has thanked the club’s fans for the reception they have given him since moving to English football and labelled the Hammers supporters as incredible.
The France international has been a class act this term for Slaven Bilic’s men after a £14 million move from Marseille in the summer, proving himself in English football.
Payet has captured the imagination with some sublime skill and amazing vision, with the 29-year-old firing his way into consideration for the PFA Player of the Year award as a consequence.
This has led to speculation that the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid could move for the gifted playmaker this summer, with a massive transfer fee being touted.
Regardless of the speculation, Payet has been full of praise for the West Ham fans and admits that their love has been a key reason that he has settled in at the London club so well.
“I have worked very hard and now I am reaping the rewards and enjoying my time here,” the Frenchman told the club’s official website.
“I am making the most of every moment here as things are going well. The fans here are great, there are lots of things being created for me.
“Some t-shirts with the song they sing about me which is really nice. It’s touching to have been welcomed so nicely and the love the fans give me is absolutely incredible.”
