West Ham’s hopes of a spectacular summer deal to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly suffered a blow, with Italian outlet TMW reporting that the Swede is set to sign a new one-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

The veteran centre forward is in the last year of his contract with the current Ligue 1 champions and has been widely tipped to leave the Parc des Princes for a lucrative move to England.

While Manchester United and a host of other Premier League sides have been linked to Ibrahimovic, reports continue that the Hammers want to make the striker their marque signing before moving to the Olympic Stadium.

Ibrahimovic continues to be a focal point for PSG and prove himself as one of Europe’s best centre forwards, scoring an incredible 30 Ligue 1 goals this season to top the charts.

Despite being 34, the former Barcelona attacker looks set to play at the game’s pinnacle for another couple of campaigns, which could have sparked PSG to try to keep their talisman.
