West Ham are believed to be closing in on the signing of Argentine striker Gustavo Bou, with The Daily Mail stating that negotiations with Racing Club have started.

The South American hitman has been linked with the Hammers in recent weeks, with the latest report suggesting that there is concrete interest from Slaven Bilic’s men.

Bou has been in scintillating form in front of goal since leaving River Plate for Racing Club and is said to be valued around the £9 million mark.

The latest report suggests that talks between the English and Argentine clubs are ongoing, while the striker is believed to be keen on a move to the London outfit.

Bou has netted 19 goals for Racing this season and is versatile enough to play either as a number nine or on the left flank.

West Ham’s attacking options are set to be shaken up this summer as the club looks for a clinical marksman to fire them into top-four contention again next season.
