West Ham are ready to rival Manchester City for the signing of Bologna sensation Amadou Diawara according to The Daily Mail.

The Hammers are expected to be busy in the transfer window this summer and will look abroad for potential new faces.

Diawara has made an impression for the Serie A side this season, starting 27 games for the modest outfit and showing robustness across the side’s midfield.

City are believed to be big admirers of the Guinea-born starlet, while Juventus have also been accredited with an interest in the 18-year-old.

The Hammers are exploring the option of bringing Diawara to London also, but have been put off slightly by Bologna’s £14 million asking price.

West Ham are in a battle with City for a place in the top four and qualifying for the Champions League would certainly help Slaven Bilic’s men in the transfer market this summer before they move to the Olympic Stadium.
